The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection will strengthen measures to protect consumer rights in 2025

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection approved the sectoral plan market surveillance for 2025, aimed at strengthening control over imported products, especially those entering the market through unofficial channels.

Andriy Kreitor, deputy head of the State Production and Consumer Service, emphasized that special attention will be paid to the fight against “gray” imports and smuggling of goods that arrive without the necessary documentation. The main tasks of the document are to improve the monitoring system and effectively prevent the penetration of dangerous products into the domestic market.

In the process of developing the plan, a number of factors were taken into account, including products belonging to the category of increased risk, results of monitoring of restrictive measures, data of the international RAPEX system on risky products, as well as analysis of consumer appeals and cases of harm to health due to dangerous products.

According to RAPEX data, the most dangerous goods include toys with toxic substances or small parts that pose a risk to children, electronic equipment that can cause ignition or electric shock, and lighting devices that do not meet radiation standards.
