The strike on a civilian facility in Kharkiv was likely carried out by an “Iskander” missile
On the night of January 24, Russian troops launched a combined strike on Kharkiv, using not only strike drones, but also a missile. In addition to the attack by 25 Shahed drones, the city was subjected to missile fire – an Iskander missile was probably used, which hit the territory of a civilian enterprise in the Industrial District.
“It has been established that a missile strike was also launched on the Industrial District of Kharkiv at night. A missile, presumably of the Iskander type, was recorded hitting the territory of a civilian enterprise,” law enforcement officials said.
During the night from 00:09 to 02:32, at least 25 explosions were heard in Kharkiv. The Industrial and Nemyshlyansky districts of the city were hit. The attack injured 19 people – they were injured or suffered acute stress reactions. Among the victims are a 12-year-old boy, a 25-year-old pregnant woman and a 74-year-old pensioner.
The shelling led to significant destruction of civilian infrastructure. Over a thousand windows were broken in the city. Five apartment buildings and 21 private houses were damaged. More than 40 residents had to be evacuated from one of the residential buildings.
