The Verkhovna Rada proposes to create a special commission to investigate the use of funds for fortification and UAVs
People’s deputies of Ukraine plan to create a temporary special commission (TSC) to investigate the use of state budget funds aimed at the construction of fortifications, engineering barriers on the front line, as well as the manufacture and purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations .

“Create a Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the use of funds from the state budget of Ukraine aimed at the construction of fortifications and engineering barriers on the contact line, as well as the manufacture and purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles for military units and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and others formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine military formations (hereinafter referred to as the Temporary Special Commission“, the document states.
People’s deputies Petro Poroshenko (“European Solidarity”), Oleksandra Ustinova (“The Voice”), Andriy Motovylovets (“Servant of the People”) and Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratyuk were the initiators of the creation of the TSK. They propose to appoint Mykola Zadorozhny (“Servant of the People”) as the head of the commission.
It is also noted that the adoption of this draft resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will ensure the preliminary processing and study of issues related to the use of budget funds aimed at the arrangement of fortification structures and engineering barriers on the contact line, as well as the manufacture and purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles for military units and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine .
On Tuesday, May 21, the “European Solidarity” Faction blocked the tribune and demanded the creation of a TSK of fortifications and drones. The Speaker of the Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, was forced to prematurely announce a break in the plenary session.
The authors of the draft resolution note that the creation of the TSC can be an important step in ensuring the transparency and efficiency of the use of public funds for the country’s critical defense needs.
