Trump decided to appoint Kennedy Jr. to the post of Secretary of Health
President-elect Donald Trump announced on the intention to appoint Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). Trump said Kennedy Jr. would rebuild the HHS agencies, returning them to the “gold standard of scientific research” and ensuring transparency to end the chronic disease epidemic.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, is known for his criticism of the pharmaceutical industry and his skepticism about vaccines. He claimed a possible link between vaccines and autism, which caused concern among health experts. Kennedy also criticized the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, accusing him of conspiring with Bill Gates and pharmaceutical companies to promote vaccines against COVID-19.
In recent interviews, Kennedy has emphasized that he has no intention of banning vaccines, but wants to ensure that scientific research on their safety and effectiveness is available so that each person can make their own assessment of whether this or that drug is right for them. In addition, he stated that the Trump administration plans to recommend against the addition of fluoride to drinking water because, in his opinion, it can negatively affect the IQ level of children.
Kennedy Jr.’s appointment has caused concern among health experts because of his previous statements that contradict the scientific evidence. They fear its appointment could affect public confidence in medical recommendations and vaccination programs.
