Two independent members of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo have announced their resignations
Two independent members of the supervisory board of NEC “Ukrenergo”, Daniel Dobbeni and Peder Andreasen, resigned, protesting against the politically motivated, in their opinion, dismissal of the company’s board chairman Volodymyr Kudrytskyi. This is stated in statements, published on the official Facebook page of Ukrenergo.
As reported, on September 2, the supervisory board held an extraordinary meeting at the initiative of Kudrytsky, who presented a report on the protection of high-voltage network facilities during Russian attacks and the current situation surrounding the company in the media space. After this meeting, the supervisory board decided to fire him.
“Today, September 3, we submitted our written notices about the early termination of powers as members of the company’s supervisory board. We believe that the decision to early dismiss the head of Ukrenergo is politically motivated and, based on the results of the presented report, does not have any reasonable grounds.”, – stated in the statement.
Dobbeni and Andreasen also emphasized that since their appointment to the supervisory board of Ukrenergo in December 2021, they faced political pressure and observed numerous attempts to appoint persons whose professional competence was questionable to the company’s board.
In addition, the management of Ukrenergo regularly reported to the supervisory board about the negative impact of anonymous sources in social networks on the company’s reputation and about the pressure exerted by law enforcement agencies on employees.
“In conditions where the corporate governance of the company according to OECD standards is called into question, we do not see the possibility of continuing our work in the supervisory board of Ukrenergo. Violation of the principles of corporate governance and dismissal of the manager without proper grounds is unacceptable and may affect the further cooperation of Ukrenergo with member operators ENTSO-E”, – is emphasized in the joint statement.
