Ukraine launches free chatbot that provides information on sexual rehabilitation for military personnel and veterans
The first free chatbot has started operating in Ukraine, providing military personnel, veterans, and their partners with information about sex life after injuries. The service is currently in beta and is available on Telegram, Viber, and WhatsApp. As reported in the project “Recovery. Sexual Life”, created by the network of rehabilitation centers RECOVERY, sexual Rehabilitation is an important component of returning to a full life after injury, but this topic is often not given enough attention.
Military personnel and veterans may face not only the physical consequences of injuries, but also difficulties in restoring intimacy and confidence in intimate life.
The “Recovery. Sex Life” chatbot is an anonymous and confidential tool. It does not replace a specialist consultation, but offers structured and verified information about sexual rehabilitation and answers the most common questions about intimate life after trauma.
The chatbot provides information about sexual life after amputations, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and burns, the impact of pain on sexual life, difficulties with erection and orgasm, sex after concussion, lack of sexual desire, the impact of post-traumatic stress disorder on sex, difficulties in relationships and the absence of a partner, the use of sex aids, as well as ways to talk about intimate problems.
The materials for the chatbot were prepared by a team of experts led by clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and sexologist Olena Lysenko. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Sexology and Medical Psychology Boris Vornik also participated in the creation of the content.
The authors note that the AI assistant functions exclusively on the basis of materials from this team and does not use external sources. Currently, the project team is collecting user feedback to improve the service.
