Ukrainian defense companies will launch production projects on the territory of Denmark
Ukrainian defense companies will implement new production projects on the territory of Denmark. The relevant Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal together with his Danish colleagues – Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen, Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bjodskov and Minister of Foreign Affairs Lars Løcke Rasmussen.
The document provides for the launch of production by Ukrainian defense companies in Denmark, the creation of joint capacities, the exchange of technologies and the attraction of EU funding for the implementation of such projects.
“Signing the Memorandum is a big step towards forming a new security system in Europe and strengthening the capabilities of the defense and industrial complexes of our states. During the war, jointly produced products will support the Defense Forces of Ukraine. In the long term, Ukrainian decisions and experience in the field of security will also strengthen the defense capabilities of our allies, – emphasized the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
The Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen, noted that there are a number of benefits from deepening the integration of the defense industries of both countries.
“The most obvious of them is helping Ukrainians in the production of weapons for the front in safety from massive Russian airstrikes. At the same time, closer cooperation between the defense sectors of our countries will strengthen Denmark’s innovation potential and strengthen its own defense“, commented the head of the Danish Defense Department.
Denys Shmyhal during the meeting thanked for the consistent and systematic support that Denmark provides to the Ukrainian military. Separately, the parties discussed the exchange of experience and technologies in countering Russian drones.
“In particular, we have significant prospects for cooperation with European partners within the framework of the “Drone Wall” initiative, where we will jointly coordinate our countermeasures against Russian provocations in the sky”, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine noted.
Further steps of industrial cooperation were also discussed. Defense ministers agreed to continue work on strategically important projects within the framework of the Build with Ukraine initiative.
