New rules for compensation for demining of agricultural land will apply in Ukraine

On April 29, the Cabinet of Ministers made changes to the procedure for the use of state budget funds provided for the compensation of costs for humanitarian demining of agricultural lands. About this reported representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
The central executive body responsible for forming and approving the list of territories where hostilities are ongoing or have been ongoing, as well as temporarily occupied territories, has also been changed: instead of the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, these powers have been transferred to the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine.
Provisions have been agreed on the grounds for compensating agricultural commodity producers for humanitarian land demining costs, as well as a list of documents that must be submitted to the Center for Humanitarian Demining after the work is completed. The requirements for agricultural producers to comply with the terms of opening an escrow account in an authorized bank to receive compensation have been strengthened.
Now only farmers who actually grow agricultural products on their own or leased plots will have the right to compensation. In case of partial land contamination, compensation will be possible if there is an official report from a certified demining operator. In addition, the requirements for opening an escrow account have been tightened: instead of 5 days, 10 working days are now allowed. Violation of this deadline will result in rejection of the application.
