Ukrainians can only hope for strong diplomatic pressure from the international community, which will force Russian President Vladimir Putin to sit down at the negotiating table. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, informs The Parisian.
He expressed surprise at the West’s lack of determination.
“Why haven’t we been massively armed since the beginning of the war? My language may sound bold, but I have the impression that everyone is afraid of Putin’s Russia. He enjoys impunity. We need a strong America and Europe to put pressure on Putin and stop this war.” , – noted Zelensky.
The President admitted that Ukraine currently does not have sufficient resources to fully recapture the occupied territories. At the same time, the country is not in a weak position, although it does not have an absolute advantage for negotiations.
He emphasized that no international leader has the right to negotiate with Putin without the participation of Ukraine.
“We have never delegated this mandate to anyone. We are the victims. It would be unfair if everyone started saying how the country should live. The French in France, the Italians in Italy or the Americans in the USA know what they want for themselves. Ukrainians too.” – concluded the president.
