President Volodymyr Zelensky has a chance to meet with Donald Trump next week, reports Axios.
According to the source, two possible scenarios are being considered: Zelensky’s trip to the US to discuss the security guarantee agreement or a meeting with the American leader during the World Economic Forum in Davos. Ukrainian officials noted that the visit to the US will allow for the final agreement on the security guarantee document.
Earlier, commenting on the results of negotiations in Paris with the American side, Zelensky said that the document is “virtually ready” before finalization with US President Donald Trump. On January 7, the Ukrainian delegation held a series of meetings with US representatives, as well as discussions with the national security advisers of France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland and Turkey with the participation of NATO, the European Commission and the European Council.
On January 6, negotiations of the “Coalition of the Resolute” were held in Paris with the personal participation of Zelensky. After them, the president noted that now “there are answers” regarding many elements of European guarantees, including the deterrent contingent.
