Zelenskyy signs decree on admission of military to positions in the Ministry of Veterans

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree allowing active servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations to hold positions in the Ministry of Veteran Affairs. Information published on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

According to the decree, it is about making changes to the previous presidential decree of May 3, 2017 No. 126/2017. The introduced changes allow servicemen to occupy certain positions in the Ministry of Veterans Affairs in the event of their vacancy.

Minister of Veterans’ Affairs Nataliya Kalmykova noted: “There is nothing for veterans without veterans! Now Ukrainian military personnel who continue to serve can participate in the work of the Ministry of Veterans.”

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers refuted the information on the appointment of monetary assistance in case of death or disability of servicemen, which appeared on September 25.

Also in September, the government proposed to cut funding to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs by 28% in 2025.

It will be recalled that earlier the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Oleksandr Porhun, who had been acting as First Deputy Minister of Veterans since February.
