Alibaba introduced the super-powerful AI model Qwen3-Max, which has more than 1 trillion parameters

One of China’s biggest tech giants, Alibaba, has unveiled its most powerful artificial intelligence model, the Qwen3-Max. The development has more than a trillion parameters and demonstrates breakthrough capabilities in code generation and the operation of autonomous agents, reports Reuters.

The launch of Qwen3-Max was announced at the annual Apsara conference, where Alibaba Cloud CTO Zhou Jingzhen outlined the main benefits of the new system. The main difference of Qwen3-Max is its ability to work autonomously, which significantly distinguishes it from popular chatbots like ChatGPT.

The model needs much less human instructions, is able to make decisions independently and perform tasks to achieve the set goals. According to independent tests, Qwen3-Max outperformed competitors, including Anthropic’s Claude and DeepSeek-V3.1, on a number of performance metrics.

The company also announced plans to open its first data centers in Brazil, France and the Netherlands to accelerate the global development of AI. In addition, Alibaba plans to expand capacity in Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Dubai.

Recall that in March it became known about Alibaba’s intention to spend 39 billion yuan (approximately $5.39 billion) on the purchase of chips for artificial intelligence in 2025.
