Denmark allocates 375 million dollars for the reconstruction of Ukraine

Denmark will allocate 375 million dollars to the reconstruction of Ukraine within the framework of the Ukraine Transition Program. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine,

“Ukraine and Denmark launched a new Ukraine Transition Program for 2025-2028 with a budget of 2.8 billion Danish kroner ($375 million)”, – the message says.

The program provides for the restoration of critical infrastructure, the provision of humanitarian aid, support for veterans and internally displaced persons, the development of entrepreneurship, as well as the implementation of projects in the field of “green” transition in energy and transport, along with the continuation of key reforms.

“Denmark and I already have a positive experience of cooperation in Mykolaiv. Today, this format reaches the national level. And I am sure that in the next three years, millions of Ukrainians will get a tangible result, – said Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development.

He explained that approximately 60% of the total funding will be directed to Mykolaiv and the region. Back in March 2023, a partnership memorandum was signed between Denmark and Mykolaiv Oblast. Since then, the Danish side has helped in the restoration of water supply, participated in the modernization of heating and energy systems, established cooperation with communities and local authorities.

The balance of 40% is intended for other regions of Ukraine that have suffered destruction as a result of the war. It is about the reconstruction of hospitals and educational institutions, the modernization of energy networks and water supply systems, as well as the support of internally displaced persons in communities throughout the country.
