FPV drone competition among students held in Ukraine

Ukraine hosted a student FPV drone competition, which was attended by more than 80 teams from 50 higher and vocational education institutions from all regions of the country. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on a.

The first all-Ukrainian competition within the framework of the “Student Technological League for FPV Racing” took place at the Uzhhorod National University in the Transcarpathian region. More than 80 teams from 50 educational institutions from all regions of Ukraine took part in the event. Students demonstrated their piloting skills on 7-inch waterproof FPV SHRIKE drones.

Recall that in early October 2025, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the SkyFall Academy, launched the All-Ukrainian League for FPV Racing, which became a new step in the development of miltech education in the country. The Student Technological League for FPV Racing is a modern direction of Ukrainian student sports, which is rapidly gaining popularity and combines technology, engineering, speed of thinking and reaction.

The competition is held among students of higher and vocational educational institutions, which today form the basis of the future Ukrainian miltech industry. The league was created by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, SkyFall Academy — a certified training center of the Ministry of Defense — and the public organization “Sports Student Union of Ukraine”.

The initiative is long-term and aimed at popularizing the miltech direction in education, as well as creating an environment in which young engineers, pilots, and developers can receive practical tools for developing technologies of the future.
