In Cherkasy, a man hit an employee of the TCC with an ax: the attacker turned out to be a priest of the UPC MP

In Cherkasy, during a public alert, a man attacked TCC servicemen: he hit one with an ax and sprayed another with a gas canister. About this reports the press service of the Cherkasy regional TCC.

According to information of the local mass media, the attacker turned out to be the priest of the UOC MP Andriy Shimanovych.

“During awareness activities in the city of Cherkasy, a joint patrol consisting of servicemen of the Cherkasy OMTCC and SP and representatives of the national police stopped a person who refused to provide any documents and identify himself for the purpose of checking military registration documents. During the conversation, the citizen began to behave aggressively, he did not respond to the remarks of the police officer and military personnel of the TCC and SP. Later, the citizen suddenly started swinging a bag containing an object similar to an ax.

As a result, one of the servicemen received 2 blows to the head. During the detention of the specified citizen, the latter sprayed a can of irritating action in the face of another serviceman. After the arrest, an investigative-operational group and an ambulance arrived at the scene of the incident, – says the message of the TCC.

The identity of the man was established, it turned out that he was wanted. With him, in addition to an ax and a gas can with an irritating substance, an object similar to a gun was found. The law enforcement officers are currently solving the issue of entering information about the incident into the EDPR and bringing him to criminal liability.
