Kyivstar plans to buy Uklon taxi service

“Kyivstar” telecommunications company applied to the Antimonopoly Committee to obtain permission to purchase the Uklon taxi service. About this informs Forbes.

The press service of “Kyivstar” noted that the strategic development of the company involves investments in innovative technologies and new services. In this context, the possibility of acquiring Uklon, a developer of an online platform for ordering transportation and delivery, which operates in Ukraine and Uzbekistan, is being considered.

The investment in Uklon will be an important step for Kyivstar in creating an integrated digital ecosystem, contributing to business scaling and inorganic growth. For Uklon, this agreement will open up new opportunities for attracting investments in digital services and entering new markets with the support of Kyivstar’s parent company, Veon.

“Kyivstar” also noted that they strive to go beyond the traditional provision of communication services and are considering similar agreements with other companies. The application for the acquisition of Uklon was submitted in December 2024, and the value of the company is currently estimated in the range of $40-80 million.

In the first three quarters of 2024, Uklon received UAH 1.2 billion in revenue, which is twice the figure for the same period in 2023. Previously, Uklon co-founder and board member Serhii Smus said that the company received many offers for purchase, but none of them met its interests.
