Police blocked Macron’s car in New York because of Trump’s motorcade (video)

After a speech at the UN headquarters, French President Emmanuel Macron was blocked for a few minutes in New York due to street closures for the passage of Donald Trump’s motorcade, reports BFM TV.

On September 22, after a speech in which he announced France’s recognition of the state of Palestine, Macron was stopped by police on the street due to the movement of Trump’s presidential motorcade.

One of the law enforcement officers addressed the French leader with the words: “Sorry, Mr. President, everything is blocked at the moment”, after which he pointed to the approaching motorcade. In a few minutes, traffic was opened, but only for pedestrians. In such an unusual situation, Emmanuel Macron recruited his American colleague to settle the situation.

“Guess what, I’m waiting outside now, because everything is closed for you”, Macron said with a smile on the phone.

After a few minutes of waiting, traffic was restored, but only for pedestrians. As a result, the French president had to have a conversation with Donald Trump just on the street, on his way to the French embassy.
