Russia wants to create drones with artificial intelligence to bypass Ukrainian air defense
Russia is actively working on the development of Shaheds with artificial intelligence, which will be able to act as a swarm of coordinated strike drones. The main purpose of such drones is to bypass the Ukrainian air defense system more effectively.
As informs The Guardian, Russia has already launched two factories for the production of Shahed-136 delta-wing drones, which in Russia have been renamed Geran-2. According to the publication, these enterprises are capable of producing “hundreds of drones every week.”
“Efforts are underway to implement artificial intelligence to try to create a ‘swarm of drones’ through which the Shahed communicate and coordinate attacks in a way that destroys air defenses,” – the article says.
It is reported that the Armed Forces are facing great difficulties in the creation of drones that could shoot down the Shaheds.
“The task is complicated by the fact that the turbulent air flow caused by Shahed in flight significantly affects the piloting of a smaller FPV drone”, – it is noted in the material.
The Russian side is constantly improving its drones, making them more lethal. Previously, the Ukrainian military published video evidence of Russia’s use of thermobaric warheads, which create a fiery cloud with a temperature of up to 2000°C during an explosion. Such warheads significantly increase the destructive power of drones, especially during explosions in closed rooms.
