The Central Election Commission recognized Serhiy Karabuta as an elected People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the Servant of the People party.

The Central Election Commission announced on January 23 that it had recognized Serhiy Karabuta as an elected People’s Deputy of Ukraine. He ran for the Verkhovna Rada under number 156 on the list of the Servant of the People party and is to replace Oleksandr Kabanov in parliament, who died on January 14.

The Commission noted that it had received a document from the Verkhovna Rada on the early termination of Kabanov’s powers in connection with his death. Kabanov was elected to parliament in a nationwide multi-mandate electoral district from the Servant of the People party.

“The Central Election Commission considered the document and recognized Serhiy Karabuta, the next candidate in line, included in the list of the Servant of the People party under No. 156, as the elected People’s Deputy of Ukraine in the specified elections,” the Commission said in a statement.

Within twenty days, Serhiy Karabuta must submit to the Central Election Commission the documents stipulated by the election legislation.

Serhiy Karabuta was born on January 3, 1983. During the 2019 elections, he held the position of director of Tropicana Travel LLC and lived in Kyiv.

Previously, the Commission recognized Roman Kravets as an elected people’s deputy, who was to replace Dmytro Natalukha after his appointment as head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. Kravets announced that he was resigning from the mandate and left for Israel for treatment.

The next on the list of “Servants of the People” were Tetyana Perepichay (No. 157), who in December 2025 filed an application for exclusion from the list, and Yuriy Fedorenko (No. 158), who at the time of running was an individual entrepreneur and currently heads the 429th separate regiment of unmanned systems “ACHILLES”.
