The debate between Biden and Trump has started in the USA

In the American city of Atlanta, US President Joe Biden and former leader Donald Trump met in the first round of pre-election debates. The candidates did not greet each other before the start of the event, but during it they exchanged mutual “accusations”, spoke about the state of the country’s economy, touched on the topics of abortion, the situation on the border, the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and the war in Ukraine and Israel.
About this informs CNN channel.
They met in the studio of the CNN channel on June 27 at 21:00 (June 28 at 04:00 Kyiv time) without an audience, but the event was broadcast live by the media.
At the request of Donald Trump, the participants of the debate were required not to have any notes with them, only blank sheets of paper and pens were allowed. At the same time, on the condition of Joe Biden, the debate took place without an audience, only two presenters were present in the studio. The microphones were turned on only at the moments when the floor was given, so that the participants did not interrupt each other and did not insert comments.
It is planned that in October, closer to election day, the candidates will hold another televised debate.
During the debate, Biden said that he is the first US president in a century under whose administration no American soldiers died outside the country.
Trump said that as a president who is respected in the world, he would force Vladimir Putin to refrain from any action regarding Ukraine and called Putin’s proposal regarding the country unacceptable to the United States.
Donald Trump has again stated that if he is elected president of the United States, he will stop the war between Russia and Ukraine even before he takes office on January 20.
The ex-president accused the current head of the White House of allocating large sums of money to Ukraine, considering it an unnecessary step. According to him, if he were the president, Putin would not have started the conflict.
When asked by the presenters about his support for Putin’s statements regarding the terms of ending the war, Trump answered negatively: “No.” In response, Joe Biden called Putin a war criminal.
“He wants to restore what was part of the Soviet empire. If we had a real president whom Putin respects, he would never, ever invade Ukraine. A lot more people died in the Russian war than they think… They talk about numbers – you can double those numbers, maybe triple them. He (Biden – ed.) did nothing to stop… And in fact, I think he encouraged Russia to attack“, Trump emphasized.
“Every time Zelensky comes to this country, he leaves with 60 billion dollars. He is the greatest salesman in history. I’m not going to criticize him, I’m not criticizing anything. I’m only talking about the money we’re spending on this war. And we shouldn’t have spent. This should never have happened. As president-elect, I will settle this war between Putin and Zelensky before I take office on January 20. I will settle this war. People are killed so senselessly and senselessly“, Trump added.
“Putin is a war criminal. He killed thousands and thousands of thousands of people. And he made one thing clear: he wants to restore what was part of the Soviet empire, and not just (grab) a piece of Ukraine. This is what he wants and you think stop it?” – said Biden, addressing Trump.
