The state will pay 50 thousand hryvnias to civilians released from Russian captivity

Civilian citizens of Ukraine released from Russian captivity will be entitled to a one-time state aid of 50 thousand hryvnias. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

This is about Ukrainian civilians who were illegally deprived of their freedom by Russia as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine. To receive payment, it is necessary to apply to the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine and submit a certificate from the Joint Center for Coordination of the Search and Release of Prisoners of War and Persons Illegally Deprived of Their Liberty as a Result of Aggression against Ukraine.

In cases where a civilian has returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine on their own, confirmation of their recognition as a victim in criminal proceedings must also be added to the package of documents. The relevant documents are issued by law enforcement agencies.

In addition to monetary assistance, civilians released from captivity, regardless of the fact of official recognition of deprivation of liberty, are provided with basic necessities. These include food, hygiene products, seasonal clothing and footwear, as well as the opportunity to receive free legal, medical and social assistance.

At the same time, the state continues to provide other types of support to civilians who have been released from captivity, as well as to families of persons for whom a special commission has confirmed the fact of illegal deprivation of liberty due to Russian armed aggression. After release, such citizens are paid a one-time allowance of 100 thousand hryvnias, and for each year of captivity, an annual payment of the same amount is provided. Family members may also be recipients of these funds.
