The Ukrainian military will take part in the British parade on May 5

The Ukrainian military will take part in a parade in Great Britain on May 5 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, a date that symbolizes the end of hostilities in Europe during the Second World War. About this informs Reuters.

Ukrainian servicemen will join about a thousand members of the armed forces of Great Britain, among whom will be representatives of the cavalry and military bands. The presence of the Ukrainian military is intended to reflect “global support for the continuous struggle for freedom” against Russian aggression.

“In the midst of the first full-scale war in Europe since World War II, it is fitting that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, now fighting on the front lines of freedom, are presented on Monday,” – emphasized the Minister of Defense of Great Britain John Healy.

In addition to representatives of Ukraine, military personnel from Australia, Canada and New Zealand will also participate in the event, carrying the flags of their countries. The parade will also feature the flags of each Commonwealth state, the statement said.

As part of the anniversary celebration in Great Britain, a number of solemn events will take place: a military parade, demonstration flights and a thanksgiving service in Westminster Abbey with the participation of representatives of the royal family.
