UAH 3 billion in taxes and 19,500 winners: the results of the state program “Own business”

For more than two years of operation of the state program “Own business”, about 19,500 Ukrainians became its winners, to whom the government allocated financial assistance in the amount of UAH 4.7 billion for the development of their own businesses.

As Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna noted, these entrepreneurs have already paid taxes and fees in the amount of UAH 3 billion, thereby returning part of the state support back to the budget.

According to Berezhnaya, this project will help create about 37,000 new jobs in various sectors of the economy. Only in the sixteenth wave of the program, another 392 entrepreneurs won, who will receive grants in the amount of UAH 98 million to start or develop their businesses.

It is interesting that among the last participants of the program, 59% are women, 32% are men, and the remaining 9% are legal entities. Most of them have a higher education, and most grant recipients come from Lviv, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Rivne regions and the city of Kyiv. Grant funds will mainly be used to purchase necessary business equipment.

The most common areas of activity among the participants are trade, vehicle repair, processing industry, as well as temporary accommodation and catering. The “Own business” program provides micro-grants from UAH 50,000 to UAH 250,000, which can be used for the purchase of equipment, raw materials, rent of premises or other necessary business needs. A prerequisite is the creation of new jobs.

This government project is part of the broader “Made in Ukraine” initiative and is aimed at supporting entrepreneurial activity through the eRobota program, where applications are submitted through the “Diya” portal.
