The Ukrainian technology platform Brave1 has created special cartridges designed to destroy drones. They are equipped with a warhead, which significantly increases the effectiveness of hitting targets in the air. About this informs Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Defense cluster Brave1 has initiated the development of anti-drone warheads, which significantly increase the chances of the military to hit a moving target”Fedorov noted.
Outwardly, these cartridges look like ordinary ones, but they have a special warhead, which increases the probability of hitting FPV drones or Mavik drones. According to the minister, the development has already received codification in accordance with NATO standards.
“Our common goal is for each infantryman to have a store of such ammunition and be able to equip a machine gun with it in the event of an air threat.”, – stressed Fedorov.
We will remind you that Russian troops regularly strike the territory of Ukraine with “Shakhed” kamikaze drones, targeting civilian infrastructure objects. Due to the fact that these drones often fly at an altitude of up to 2 km, it becomes more difficult to shoot them down. In response to this threat, Ukraine is looking for new countermeasures. As Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said, a special unit equipped with interceptor drones is currently being formed in Ukraine.
