Ukraine won three awards from the International Association of Women Police Officers

For the first time in history, Ukraine won three international awards from the International Association of Policewomen — a prestigious global organization that since 1915 unites women in law enforcement agencies in more than 75 countries. About this informs press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

This recognition underlines the important role of women in policing, demonstrating the high appreciation of their contribution to the development of the law enforcement system, especially in the context of war and serious challenges. The international community recognizes the determination, courage and professionalism of Ukrainian policewomen who continue to serve even in the most difficult times.

According to the proposal of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Kateryna Pavlichenko, three Ukrainian law enforcement officers received recognition in key nominations:

  • “Courage” – police lieutenant Valery Bilenets;
  • “Service to the community” – police lieutenant colonel Olha Zinchenko;
  • “Officer of the Year” – police captain Olena Stavytska.

“This testifies not only to the growing authority of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in the international arena, but also to the deep recognition of the contribution of female police officers to the protection of citizens and the security of the state in conditions of war.” – said Kateryna Pavlichenko.

There are a total of 11 nominations: Officer of the Year, Civilian of the Year, Bravery, Leadership, Community Service, Excellence in the Performance of Duties, Mentoring and Coaching, Men’s Award in Support of the UN HeForShe Campaign, Prevention and Detection of Violence Against Women, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Legacy.

This is the first case in history when representatives of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies won three nominations at once at the international competition organized annually by the International Association of Policewomen.
