Ukrainian company DevDroid has created a universal modular control system for ground drones
The Ukrainian company DevDroid has created a universal modular control system for ground drones called Droid Box. This solution is designed to significantly facilitate and accelerate the process of developing robotic ground systems for manufacturers.
“Droid Box is essentially an “operating system” for NRCs, which accelerates the development, integration and release of new solutions onto the battlefield. In addition, the system forms a single standard for controlling Ukrainian ground robotic systems”, explains the company’s CEO Yuriy Poritsky.
Droid Box actually acts as the “brain” of a ground drone, responsible for communication, control and integration of combat modules. The system is easily integrated with various platforms and supports simultaneous connection of several communication channels – radio channel, LTE and Starlink – which provides stable control even in the zone of active combat operations. Operators can control the NRC both from the tablet screen and using a gamepad.
It is noted that the Wolly combat module from DevDroid can be attached to the platform equipped with the Droid Box, turning the logistics platform into a reconnaissance and strike complex. The system also has elements of artificial intelligence for autonomous detection, capture and tracking of targets.
According to the manufacturer, the Droid Box has already been integrated into a number of systems, in particular, into the multi-purpose tracked NRC NUMO, the universal platform “Snail” for logistics, ammunition delivery and evacuation of the wounded, the armored ground robot “Snake”, resistant to anti-personnel mines and FPV attacks, as well as the “Bison” platform for transporting ammunition, evacuating the wounded and providing fire support.
