Ukrposhta has introduced a new way to receive parcels without waiting in line at the operator. Now, customers can pick up some of their parcels themselves from special express delivery cells in branches using an SMS code. This is reported on the company’s website.
These are special express delivery cells that are placed directly in branches. When the parcel arrives, the client receives an SMS with an access code, opens the desired section and independently collects their shipment.
Ukrposhta notes that some parcels will be automatically sent to this delivery format. At the same time, the usual service in the branches will continue to be available.
According to Igor Smilyansky, General Director of Ukrposhta JSC, the new approach will help to separate the flows of customers – those who come to receive parcels and those who apply for other services.
“We have long been looking for a way to disperse the flows of customers… Tests are still ongoing, but it is already clear: you can receive a parcel at Ukrposhta without a queue,” he emphasized.
At the first stage, the new format will work in approximately 400 branches across Ukraine, including in large cities and regional centers. A pilot project is already underway in Kyiv and the region – the first 120 quick-dispensing cells have been installed there.
