“Diya.Signature” does not recognize: Ukrainians are outraged by the problems with the new function

The “Diya.Signature” function promises a revolution in signing documents: no more trips to the notary, no flash drives, everything online in a few clicks. However, in practice, everything may not be so simple. Diya users face problems when the smartphone does not recognize their appearance. Changing your hairstyle, hair color, even removing your glasses – all this can lead to the fact that the system will not confirm your identity.

“It’s like bullying, especially against women. I changed my hairstyle – it doesn’t recognize it, I changed my hair color – it doesn’t recognize it. In the support service, they wrote: “Yes, you’ve changed, you need to replace your identification documents.” That is, after each change of hairstyle, make new documents and tighten in action? Why does not identify by facial features, but focuses on what can change?“, users are indignant.

IN “Diya” explain that the system works by comparing the digital image with the photo in the passport. If your appearance has changed, you may need to update the photo in the document.

What to do?

• If you plan to change your appearance, it is better to update your passport photo in advance.
• If you cannot sign the document because the smartphone does not recognize you, try to take a photo in good lighting, without glasses, with a neutral facial expression.
