In Kharkiv, the number of deaths after shelling has increased: Russian terror against Kharkiv residents continues for the second day in a row

The number of victims of today’s strike on Kharkiv has increased – another injured person died in the hospital. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv OVA Oleg Synegubov, Kharkiv News reports.

Russian troops struck a drone in the middle of one of the central streets of the Shevchenko district. The injuries sustained by a 60-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman turned out to be too serious – doctors tried to save them to the last, but were unable to do so.

Seven people were injured as a result of this strike. Those who were in cars at the time of the explosion suffered the most serious injuries. Among the victims is also a two-year-old girl – she was diagnosed with acute stress reaction. In addition to damaged cars, the blast wave shattered windows in two neighboring hospitals.

The mayor of Kharkiv noted that the Russian terror against the city’s residents has been going on for the second day in a row. According to him, the horror that began last night has not subsided for a minute.

He stressed that the current series of attacks has become one of the most massive in the entire time of the full-scale war and certainly the most severe since the beginning of this year. According to him, the enemy is carrying out brutal combined strikes on the city, using both ballistics and various types of drones. In total, 37 hits were recorded at 18 locations.

The mayor also drew attention to the fact that Russian troops first used combat jet drones against Kharkiv. He explained that thanks to the jet engine, such drones move much faster, so there is critically little time left for both air defense and taking cover. That is why he called on Kharkiv residents to take this danger into account.

According to him, the consequences of the attacks are catastrophic. 25 residential high-rise buildings and three non-residential buildings were damaged in the city. He noted that at first glance it may seem that the destruction is not so significant, but in reality the scale of the disaster is much greater. The Kyivskyi district was the hardest hit. There, a direct hit was recorded in an apartment of a multi-storey building between the second and third floors. About 300 windows were broken in this building alone. In addition, a number of other buildings and infrastructure were damaged.

An office building caught fire in the Osnovyanskyi district – the roof burned out completely, and a powerful blast wave broke out the windows in a temple located nearby. In the Novobavarskyi district, the blow fell on a vegetable garden. The private sector nearby also suffered damage, but utility services there have already promptly eliminated the consequences and closed the circuits.

The mayor reported that more than 500 windows have already been broken throughout Kharkiv. At the same time, the survey is still ongoing, so this figure will grow. According to him, the volume of emergency and restoration work is now simply enormous.

Separately, he emphasized that the special cynicism of these attacks lies in the fact that Russian troops regularly strike at the same places. He gave an example when yesterday morning workers managed to close the damage at one of the facilities, and in the evening it was hit again, which is why everything had to start from scratch.

According to him, behind this destruction is also the complete exhaustion of the people, because the sirens in the city have almost not stopped for a long time. Living under such psychological pressure and in conditions of constant danger, the mayor emphasized, is extremely difficult for everyone morally.

At the same time, Terekhov noted that Kharkiv is holding on thanks to its people. The mayor emphasized that rescuers, medics, utility workers, and repair crews are currently working at the limit of their capabilities, in fact in four shifts.
