The platoon commander of the 211th brigade, who is suspected of abusing subordinates, was put on the wanted list
The commander of one of the platoons of the pontoon-bridge battalion of the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade was under suspicion for exceeding official authority, voluntarily leaving the military unit, and desertion. Due to the fact that the suspect is hiding from the investigation, he is wanted. This information made public Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
“According to the investigation, from February to May 2024, during his stay in the mission area in Eastern Ukraine, the suspect repeatedly used violence against at least three servicemen,” – says the message.
In February, while in the Dnipro region, the officer beat a soldier who was in a state of alcohol intoxication, kicking him in the face and then on other parts of the body. Later, already in the Donetsk region, the same soldier was beaten again, after which the officer ordered him to be tied to a wooden structure.
Additionally, it was established that in the Dnipro region, the suspect beat another soldier due to a conflict caused by the publication of a video recording of improper living conditions. In May, while in Kharkiv Oblast, he also beat a subordinate, accusing him of inappropriate treatment.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to establish all facts of violence in the unit. The court has already granted the prosecutor’s request for permission to detain the suspect for his delivery to the court for consideration of the application of a preventive measure in the form of detention.
